left my room for 45minutes and my ring cost at lest 1500.00 was missing. when I realized it and went back to room it was gone it didn't have legs and walk. The room guys were now cleaning the room , I said did you see my ring in a pannick. no no sorry . im sorry. My suitcase was broken by Holland American staff while on tour in Alaska two months ago. They gave me the documentation and told me I would be reimbursed for the new case I had to buy. They told me to Email the baggage handling dept. when I got home to NZ. I did this and sent Email copies of the receipts etc. They said they would reimburse my credit card within 6 weeks. My wife, daughter and I decided to take our first cruise on Holland America. What a mistake! We were asked 90 days in advance by our travel agent to submit a "Gluten Free menu for our daughter and she would fax it over to the ship. WE SPENT ALMOST $700 FOR PICTURES ON A HOLLAND AMERICAN CRUISE TO ALASKA (BLACK LABEL). ITS BEEN 11 WEEKS NOW AND WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED OUR PICTURES. I came home sick. I did visit the ship's doctor and was given medication and was confined to my cabin. I skipped port of calls and a tour. I was charged $500, which I am trying to get back, since we did purchase insurance. I am jumping hoops now. I noticed sick people on board the first day. It took me 5 days to get sick. What a blow to our cruising experience. My two grandsons 7 and 8 years old always hang out together. The oldest has a slight learning dis ability and does not function well within his own age group and really wanted to stay with his brother . REFUSED!!!! Our problem stems from our mistake, perhaps because we are 79 years old, but when we realized we had reserved for the wrong dates, we got in touch with them, to no avail. This was a shock, because we had sailed with them twice before and loved every moment. Now we are in a state of shock because they will not change the dates.
